Traditional sweets, lights, and candles helped chase away the grey skies of Sydney for Aergos’ Diwali morning tea.

On Monday 24 October Aegros took time out to come together for a Diwali celebration, to celebrate the October birthdays of our colleagues, and to announce the September Employee of the Month.

Diwali, or the festival of lights, is a Hindu celebration and one of the most important festivals within Hinduism, a global religion with approximately 1.2 billion followers. It is also an importance celebration for Jian and Sikh communities. The festival is marketed with prayers, the lighting of candles and lamps that are kept burning, as well as with new clothes, food – particularly sweets, and dancing.

The festival can last days, weeks, or even a month and it is a celebration of the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

Traditional colourful clothing is a feature of Diwali celebrations, with some Aegros colleagues showing the rest of us how to commemorate the festival in style.

Happy Diwali to all.

Several Aegros employees were nominated for this month’s employee of the month award. All had shown an incredible commitment to teamwork, to going above and beyond, and to ensuring Aegros can deliver on its promises.

The nominees were:

  • Karthik Rao – QC Manager
  • Brain Saputro – Senior R&D Scientist, and
  • Prajjwal Shrestha – Senior QA Associate.

Congratulations to all of this month’s nominees.

The September winner was Prajjwal Shrestha whose has shown remarkable commitment to keeping Aegros to its production schedule. Prajjwal was presented with a certificate and a $100 gift card in recognition of his efforts.

Congratulations to Prajjwal and to the other nominees for setting a great example for us all to follow.
